Kitchen

I will add more picture of the kitchen later on, but I wanted to give you a look at some problematic areas.
The sink is not centered with the window, which will be once we get our hands on it.

The microwave is not flushed with the cabinets, and you can see where part of it was melted and warped.

The peninsula is kind of in the way... and the refrigerator door does not open all the way!  Needles to say it is going to be removed to create an open area.

The built in desk is bulky and very high.  I like the fact that the computer in an open area but I don't think this is the right desk for the space.  We are going to replace the desk for something smaller, not in an L shape, since we are planning to have a floating island by the sliding door.

Our new kitchen will look like this!  The cabinets in the garage resemble these in the picture.  We are hoping to create a more open area for the kitchen.

*******UPDATE ON THE KITCHEN*******

Let me give you a little background on this project.  We purchased our cabinets August 31st from Lowe's because they had the best price, and quality compared to Home Depot and IKEA.  The cabinets arrived September 25th, a lot sooner than we expected.  The idea was that we would do the install ourselves to save money.  It is now February, and the cabinets have been sitting in the garage for the past 4 1/2 months due to the many other projects that have taken priority.  We realized we are not going to get to the kitchen for a while, and when we do it will take us weeks to accomplish.  Making our living conditions hard, mostly for me, since I consider the kitchen my "office".  Having said that...installation has been scheduled for February 26th which means, we do the demo, and Lowe's will do the install in 1 DAY!!!!  Counter tops will come later but at least this big project will be done quickly.  Geppetto will have to re floor the kitchen since we are getting rid of the peninsula.
I have been dreading the kitchen renovation for months for many reasons, but now I feel like a burden has been lifted off my shoulders....plus I am excited to throw everything away and start fresh.
